If you are a fan of Monet, you have to visit the Marmottan Monet Museum in Paris. It's located in a quite neighborhood next to a park, so is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip especially if you want to see Impression: Sunrise.

From the PH Vendome, take the short walk across the Place Vendome (with the big obelisk in the middle) to the Tuileries. You'll see the large sculpture garden. From the middle of the Tuileries, to your left in the direction of the Louvre, you'll see the pond with kids pushing toy sailboats around and the "petite arc". In the other direction, you look up the Champs to the Arc de Triomphe. The Tuileries are about 10 minutes from the PH Vendome, unless you get distracted by the window

Hotels located near the Eiffel Tower are well located and offer a convenient starting point for waking tours, sidwalk cafes, restaurants, and gardens.
