PH Highlands Inn: Point Lobos

I'm placing this in "General" for location, because I don't find Carmel, Carmel Highlands or Monterey among the Hyatt locations on the list (?) and perhaps the moderators might move it where appropriate when they appear. The Point Lobos state park, just north or the Highlands Inn provides easy, spectacular walks with magnificent views. This is where you can take pictures of the most beautiful scenery that the Monterey Peninsula has to offer. You look way out at the rocks covered with sea lions, and you can look way down at the waves filling and emptying deep tourquoise-water ravines. (It's safe and fine for height-fearers.) Up close and personal, you walk through coastal cypress. You're likely to see deer and otters. On another spur, around Whaler's Cove (part of the park) you'll see seals. This is only about a mile from the hotel, but you have to drive it. There are often crazy bicyclists on Highway 1, but I wouldn't want to do it in less than a car.
