The rental car shuttle experience at Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l Airport

I travel to Phoenix, AZ regularly for business and it never fails that I get onto the rental car shuttle with folks arriving there for the first time who are alarmed at how convoluted (and lengthy) the ride is from the airport to the rental car terminal. This is just a tip for those travelling to Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l Airport for the first time. . .leave plenty of time for rental car pickup and return!

I would also advise at the rental car terminal that if you are an express member of any of the rental car companies, check at the counter upstairs first before heading to the garage. At least twice there has been no line at the counter (which is in an air-conditioned location) and went to the express booth in the garage where there was a long line and no air conditioning.
