If you have trouble getting hotel rooms for the Olympics (which is super likely), there are a lot of local Beijingers renting out their apartments for 2 weeks. There's a website called http://beijingolympicapartment.com/ which will tell you all the apartments that are available and the rates. Very helpful with pictures too.
