Tsukiji Fish Market

This is one of the nicest things you can do while in Tokyo. The Hyatt Regency is very convenient for this.

Get up at 4 am to be on the first train which goes at just after 5am. If you don't get on the first train, don't bother going. Find the Toei Oedo Line, Tocho-mae station, which you can access near the Hyatt Regency. In the early hours several entrances are still not open yet, so you might have to hunt around. If you go out the front of the Hyatt Regency, turn right, go down the first stair case, then cross the street at the end of the block on your right, you'll be very near an entrance that opens early.

By a ticket to Tsukiji-shijo (shijo means "market") - not to be confused with another station just named "Tsukiji". Get on the train in the direction of Shinjuku. Tsukiji-shijo is station E-18 - get off there. There is only one exit. When you come out on the street, turn right and then right again immediately. You can follow some of the workers the rest of the way.
