Visiting Alcatraz

We said in another post that you must book your trip to Alcatraz in advance. Please don't forget that.

As for what you can see, they allow you to tour most of cell blocks and some of the other buildings. With kids, they will close the door for a few seconds (if they are not too scared) and put them into confinement. Then the youngsters get an idea of what it was really like. We always joke with the parents that we can arrange for a special one way ticket for the kids!
