* Americano: the place to see & be seen, especially on Fridays (the Embarcadero & Howard Street)

* Slanted Door: great selection of Belgian beers and noveau Vietnamese appetizers (Ferry Plaza Building)

* Bocadillos: Spanish Tapas bar & large selections of wines by the glass (Financial District)

* Waterbar: best view from the under the Bay Bridge, outdoor seating & fire pit (The Embarcadero @ Folsom)

* Kokkari: Greek restaurant with tons of ambience (Jackson & Front)

Great tips. Highly recommend Americano for drinks (only $27 for a tall glass of Blue Label :) ) and Kokkari, which is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. If you're on a budget you cant get 4 appetizers at Kokkari that is more than enough for two people for ~$45 including tip.
